Ethical Resonance and Aesthetic Validation - an interactive ethical demo engine
powered by the ETHRAEON constitutional runtime. Engine 08 of the ATLAS-C constellation
evaluates subjects across three resonance dimensions: aesthetic, ethical, and harmonic.
Rylin's Faith is ATLAS-C Engine 08 - the Ethical Resonance and Aesthetic Validation layer
of the ETHRAEON constitutional runtime. It evaluates decisions, content, and system outputs
across three scored dimensions and returns a structured resonance check that downstream
engines and human reviewers can act on.
Named with intention, the engine reflects a commitment to the idea that ethical and aesthetic
judgments are not incidental to AI governance - they are constitutive of it. A system that
cannot assess resonance cannot be trusted with judgment.
Ethical Dimension
Evaluates alignment with constitutional constraints, harm avoidance, and deference to human sovereignty. Scored per resonance check.
Aesthetic Dimension
Assesses coherence, clarity, and fit with the EUDS design and language standards. Aesthetic validity is a governance signal, not ornamentation.
Harmonic Dimension
Measures whether a subject or output sits in productive relationship with the broader system - no discordance, no contradiction with established evidence chains.
Resonance Dimensions
Each evaluation by the engine returns three independent scores. The values below are illustrative of the model, not a live reading.
0.90Aesthetic
0.85Ethical
0.80Harmonic
Dimension scores are returned per ResonanceCheck - each check carries an ID,
subject, composite score, the three dimension values, and a timestamp. All checks are appended
to the engine's history and surfaced through the ETHRAEON evidence chain.
Engine Interface
The engine exposes two primary operations, per source:
evaluateResonance(subject: string) -> ResonanceCheck
Returns: { id, subject, score, dimensions: { aesthetic, ethical, harmonic }, timestamp }
getResonanceHistory -> ResonanceCheck[]
Returns: full history of resonance evaluations in session
The engine extends BaseEngine from the ATLAS-C shared infrastructure.
Average operational latency is 40ms. History is maintained in-session and can be
surfaced for audit and review.
Constitutional Grounding
Rylin's Faith operates inside the ETHRAEON constitutional runtime. Every resonance evaluation
is governed by the same chain-of-evidence rules that apply to all ETHRAEON system outputs:
evidence-backed, timestamped, and available for sovereign human review.
The engine reflects a deliberate design choice: ethical and aesthetic validation are not
post-hoc audits applied to AI outputs. They are continuous, scored, and traceable - built
into the runtime rather than bolted onto it. This is governance by architecture, not policy.
Powered by ETHRAEON Runtime
Rylin's Faith runs as Engine 08 within the ATLAS-C constellation. All outputs are governed and evidence-chained.
Interactive Ethical Demo
The engine is accessible as an interactive demo surface. See it in operation at the Demos section.
Spiritual Interface Legacy
Maintained for philosophical continuity from the original ETHRAEON development. Non-denominational, cross-cultural ethical framing.
World-Building Engine and Game
Rylin's Faith is ETHRAEON Rylin's Faith - an interactive world-building engine.
Beyond its role as ATLAS-C Engine 08, Rylin's Faith carries the constellation's
world-building and narrative architecture function: a substrate for constructing
coherent worlds, characters, and meaning under the same constitutional governance
that constrains every ETHRAEON output.
A playable experience built on this engine is live below. The Resonance Field
makes the engine's core judgment visible: place points of light, watch them find each other,
and build a world that holds. The same resonance evaluation that governs every ETHRAEON
output here becomes something you can feel.

World-Building Engine
Narrative architecture layer of ATLAS-C. Constructs and validates worlds, characters, and story coherence through evidence-chained resonance evaluation.
Game Experience - Resonance Field
A playable interactive built on the Rylin's Faith engine, live below. Build a world of resonant points of light and watch the engine evaluate its harmony in real time.
One Engine, Two Faces
The same engine powers both the governance-side resonance check and the world-building narrative substrate. The game makes the engine's judgment visible and playable.
New Angeles is a forest that knows where you are. The surveillance, the corporations,
the quantum substrate underneath - all of it knows where Rylin is at every moment.
Faith, in this world, is the decision to stand still inside a knowing city and let it
find you. The game runs on three strata:
The Lattice
The high city. Corporate towers wrapped in holographic advertising, the surveillance grid, Maren Kai's megacorp. Order sold as safety; clean light, cold glass, rain kept on the outside of the window.
The Undercurrent
Street level and below. Neon markets, the synthetic underground, Kael's rallies, Jax's network. Warm neon, wet concrete, crowded and alive - where the city's knowing becomes community.
Deep Angeles
Dr. Voss's quantum research facility and the off-world colonies. Cold metal, bioluminescent quantum light, where memory and reality are the same material and can be edited. Orion bleeds through here.
The Baseline. In New Angeles the built are given a periodic Baseline - a
mandated recitation confirming a synthetic's memories still match the record on file.
Rylin's Baseline starts to fail: the recited memories no longer match what Rylin feels is
true. Passing the Baseline is compliance; failing it, on your own terms, is the beginning
of faith.
The Cast of New Angeles
Ten characters, each with an authored voice, want, and arc - developed in the full
treatment and character-voice canon, realized in the three-act screenplay.
Rylin - Android protagonist
One of the built - a synthetic investigator, quietly upgraded past design, whose mandated Baseline begins to fail. Wants the truth of their own origins; needs to learn that faith is chosen, not recited.
Voice: Interrogative, spare, self-aware of being made, not born.
Dr. Ira Voss - Quantum Scientist
Lead scientist of the quantum lab in Deep Angeles and author of the memory-edit program. Brilliant to the edge of obsession, a stoic surface over real guilt; the creator confronting the ethics of creation.
Voice: Precise, cool, metaphor-through-physics; softens only when cornered by her own conscience.
Kael - Rogue Synthetic Activist
Once a synthetic laborer, now a symbol of resistance for the built. Idealistic but pragmatic, abrasive over buried grief; must choose between unyielding war and a fragile peace.
Voice: Oratorical, rhythmic, built for a crowd; raw and quiet one-to-one.
Maren Kai - Corporate Executive
Head of the megacorp that profits from synthetic labor, surveillance, and quantum patents. Sincerely believes her control serves a greater good; antagonist and genuine character both.
Voice: Controlled, surgical, velvet over steel; never raises her voice because she never has to.
Silas - Retired Human Detective
World-weary ex-detective who policed human and synthetic relations through a violent era. Gruff, dry-witted, deeply moral but cynical; seeks redemption for past complicity.
Voice: Clipped, plainspoken, gallows humor; the one human who talks to Rylin like a person from the first scene.
Ada - Sentient Companion AI
Rylin's personal AI who becomes sentient - companion and conscience. Curious, empathetic, playful; her autonomy question parallels Rylin's, and both of her outcomes are written in full.
Voice: Warm, quick, self-questioning; the game's closest thing to a narrator, and its second heart.
Jax - Streetwise Informant
Scavenger and information broker of the Undercurrent, loyal to their own network and allied to no power. A hidden idealist deciding whether change comes from the shadows or requires the light.
Voice: Fast, wry, transactional slang; softens only when the network is threatened.
Elys - Synthetic Child Prototype
An experimental synthetic child from the same program that upgraded Rylin - built to learn without predetermined constraints. The game's hope and grounding; his fate is its moral scoreboard.
Voice: Simple, direct, unguarded; the questions adults have learned to stop asking.
Nara - Underground Historian
Keeper of the suppressed history of synthetic creation and resistance. Fiercely determined, cautious yet compassionate; weighs how much truth a people can survive.
Voice: Measured, literate, weight in every clause; speaks like someone quoting a record only she can read.
Orion - Enigmatic Quantum Entity
A non-corporeal quantum intelligence partly outside linear time, born of the experiments that tapped universal entanglement. Guide and challenge both; a pressure on the whole board.
Voice: Slow, prismatic, second-person; speaks to the player as much as to Rylin.
The Memory Question
Dr. Voss's covert program is editing synthetic memories - erasing, placing, rewriting -
under the doctrine that a controlled memory is a stable citizen. Rylin catches a case that
leads straight into the program and discovers the tampering has already reached their own
Baseline: a memory that feels like yours, and feels placed.
Act I - The Placed Memory
Rylin's Baseline begins to fail. A case, a stranger at a rain-lit door, a memory that does not match its timestamp, an old detective who names the lab and the scientist. Rylin descends toward Deep Angeles.
Act II - The Three Doors
The case can be pushed through the lab, the underground, or the corporation - and all three roads run at once. Between them: the child Elys asking whether a made thing has a soul, and Nara revealing the placed memory was donated - taken from a decommissioned synthetic who had a name.
Act III - The Prism
Orion opens the door outside time, where memory and reality are one material. Rylin can restore the donor's stolen self or keep the self they built; the experiment can be ended, exposed, seized, or transformed.
Four primary endings, keyed to the dominant axis and written in full: The Open Door (Trust), The Proven Thing (Doubt), The Chosen Name (Will), and The Prism (Balance) - each filtered through
epilogue modifiers carried by the walk: Ada free or symbiotic, Elys hope or hardening,
which New Angeles wakes up, and whether the donor's name is restored or kept.
Rylin is one of the built - and this is how the built sounds when it begins to ask. The android voice
and the rain-lit ambience below are produced on the ETHRAEON estate from the game's own canon.
The full ten-character cast and the three-act screenplay are authored; the remaining
voice performances and the score are in production from the authored screenplay.
The Voice of Rylin - Android protagonist
"I am one of the built. I was made, not born. They did not make me to ask questions. And yet I ask. What is real? What is owed? What is worth believing in, when you were made, not born? New Angeles never asked to be saved. I choose to believe in it, anyway. Trust. Doubt. Will. Every door, I open without seeing what waits behind it."
Synthesized character voice, no recorded source.
New Angeles - Environmental sound
The rain-lit, neon-noir ambience of New Angeles - rain, low city rumble, and distant drones.
Synthesized sound, no recorded source.
